Film Quick Takes: Ordinary Objects

Find a very ordinary object. Using different camera angles, lens lengths, and lighting techniques, take three photos that reveal a new way of seeing the object

Here are some different ways to vary how you photograph the objects:

  1. Change your shooting angle: Changing your shooting angle can alter the perspective and composition of your photograph. You can try shooting from low angles or high angles to create a more dramatic effect. Additionally, shooting from different angles can help you capture interesting shadows and highlights.

  2. Use different lenses: Different lenses can create different perspectives and effects. Wide-angle lenses can capture a wider view of the scene, while telephoto lenses can create a compressed and more intimate feel.

  3. Use different lighting techniques. Try using natural light, or  Artificial lighting for a more dramatic look. Try experimenting with different lighting setups and modifiers, such as backlighting, umbrellas, softboxes, reflectors, and flashes.
