Jesse Damazo

FILMMAKER, WRITER, & MEDIA ARTIST

Jesse Damazo is a filmmaker, media artist, and educator based in Los Angeles. He has worked for more than 10 years in higher education and more than eight years in higher education admissions including teaching film at the University of Iowa and serving as film admissions counselor at CalArts.

His films have screened as official selections at international film festivals, including Cannes, Slam Dance, Pan African Film Festival, Portland Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, Reykjavik International Film Festival, and several others. He has also exhibited in fine art galleries and experimental film festivals.

Jesse and fellow BFE Arts Advisory Board member Sinah Ober have created a Portfolio Film Development Course to help students create and develop films that will help their film portfolios stand out. Students not only end up with a polished film they can be proud of, but they will also gain valuable skills and learn about themselves as an artist.
