College Consulting Plans
Services are customized to meet each individual’s goals and timeline and discussed during the initial complimentary meeting. We offer a comprehensive plan which cover all services listed and includes student access to CIALFO. We also offer shorter and a la carte services, such as list-building, and essay/application review. If you just have a list of questions that need to be answered, we can arrange for hourly meetings as needed. All plans may be applied toward boarding school or college advising
Strategy and List Development
This process takes about 6-8 weeks and may require 5-6 meetings and ideally happens in the spring of the application year.
Conduct in-depth student interviews including online personality and career interest surveys.
Develop a plan for exploring possible careers and majors.
Plan and review the student's high school courses.
Discuss standardized test timetable. Explore test preparation strategies. (For tests such as the SSAT, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, AP, IB).
Provide advice on extracurricular activities and summer programs.
Explain the college application process.
Guide students in developing criteria for best-fit colleges and creating a list of schools with varying levels of selectivity for students to research and visit.
This process is usually spread out over 10 months and meetings occur on a regular basis. This process ideally begins the summer or early fall before the applications are due, includes the important work of essay writing, and ends when the final decision is made. Services include but are not limited to the following:
Assist with application preparation
Provide organizational tools to manage task and deadlines.
Help with brainstorming, writing and revising required essays and supplemental materials.
Provide advice on financial aid and scholarship options Practice and prepare for interviews as needed
Consult on final college decisions.
The comprehensive plan includes all the services for strategy & list development and completing applications
There is no limit on contact, hours, essay review or numbers and types of applications.
Students applying to Performing and Visual Arts colleges may be assessed a fee in addition to the Completing Applications or Comprehensive Plan.
These applications are more complex as they require planning for auditions and portfolios.

If, after that hour you decide to sign up for a more comprehensive plan, then the cost of the hour will be deducted from the package price.
Customized Service Package
Pre-pay for a 3-hour block of time to be used for any service except list building.
With this plan, you decide how you would like to use the hours and we will put together a plan of meetings with a team member to the cover the topics you need help with.

Exploration and Career Counseling
This service assists students in making decisions about future educational and career paths. This involves taking one or more psychometric aptitude evaluations an, followed by a 90 min consultation and question/answer sessions.
Going on college visits is an important part of the college process and is much more than just a sight-seeing trip. It is an essential way to find out if the college is going to be a good fit and if the student will feel comfortable and thrive in this environment. We understand that it may be very difficult for international parents to plan an go on a college tour in the US.
We can help:
College Visit planning and preparation: Prepare a cohesive itinerary, schedule of tours and meetings with admissions personnel, lists of questions for the college. Family is responsible for arranging for their own transportation and lodging.
Visit college with family or student: Arranging for transportation and lodging included.
